Kemberg

The small town of Kemberg is also known as the northern gateway to the Dübener Heide.

Kemberg is a former farming town in Saxony-Anhalt and is part of the Wittenberg district. The townscape is dominated by the 86-meter-high town tower, visible from afar, and the late-Gothic “Church of Our Lady.”

As you stroll along the historic cobblestone streets dating back to 1882, you’ll come across other sights in this small town, such as the late-Gothic town hall, the reconstructed Saxon milestone from 1725, and the 14th-century city wall, parts of which are still well-preserved.

The architecture of the buildings in the center of the small town is characterized by the Renaissance (e.g., the townhouse at Schulstraße 2), the Baroque (e.g., the Old Brewery at Wittenberger Straße 24), and the Classical periods.
